Around in Viking Times and until recently only made in Scandinavian Countries and Northern Germany, Nordic Akvavit is best served chilled from a Shot Glass unless you are in Norway. There you slowly sip it room temperature. In some countries, it is only used for Festivities such as Christmas, others year round and in Sweden, it's commonly consumed after a song. August sees Sweden and Finland busy with Crayfish parties and shot glasses of Akvavit.
